Love Hate, Awesome New Side Effects, and Happy 4th of July

As if it weren’t bad enough being bloated, constipated, and nauseated, my allergies have my nostrils stuffed rendering me a mouth breather for the rest of the pregnancy. Which is not all bad, considering I have super-sonic smell-o-vision on the rare occasion I can breathe through my nose.  Awesome.  In addition I have also added pregnancy gingivitis and back pain to my list of side effects.  What does this all mean?! It means I’m having a typical pregnancy. Fabtastic.

I went in for my monthly OB visit on Monday.  At first I didn’t like my doctor but I think he’s growing on me.  While sitting in the waiting area with the Fiance, phone glued in hand, I browsed through Honolulu Magazine’s, Best Doctor’s of 2012 issue.  Come to find out, my doctor was voted as one of the best in Honolulu. Dope. Once we were in the exam room, waiting for the doc, my fiance tells me that I should be fatter and gaining more weight.  Wait, hold on, say whaaaatttt? Honey, I love you, but shut up. While I am not as big as I thought I would be around now, I am definitely NOT complaining. Let me paint the picture, Pre-pregnancy I was 119, after the first couple months I was 115 (thanks to my good friend nausea), I am now 122. My Fiance thought I should be like 130! Bitch PLEASE! Brought this up with doc, he sided with me, and now, well, I love my doctor.

4th of July is awesome in Hawai’i.  4th of July WAS awesome in Hawai’i, until all novelty fireworks were banned in O’ahu last year.  Bummers.  I PROMISE YOU, you have not experienced 4th of July, Chinese New Year, or New Years Eve until you have experienced it in Hawai’i.  Not to fret, you still can if you visit Maui, Big Island, or Kaua’i, apparently they can still pop fireworks, just not us folks on O’ahu. Super bummers.  So, now that we can’t light things on fire and watch them blow up, what do we do?  Most people head to the beach and watch the firework shows off the shores of O’ahu.  Boring, considering that you can do that every friday, weather permitting. However! If you still want to watch some fireworks here are a list of shows happening around O’ahu.
