About 2 hours south of San Francisco The 17 mile drive is a stretch of road in Monterey, California. It winds through Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach, hugging the pacific coastline. Majority of the highway is maintained by the Pebble Beach Corporation, you know, that world famous golf course? Yea, them.
The drive will take you past several scenic viewing points, beach access points, and golf courses, all of which are beautifully maintained. Even more incredible are the homes located along this coastline. I’m sure they are priced in the millions. You know you’ve made it when your house has its’ own name (Chateau Marmalade?).
This beautiful drive will cost you a whopping $10.00 if you are not a resident of the surrounding area, but it is definitely worth the money. If possible enter close to sunset and you will get some of the most breathtaking views of your life.
If you can, definitely stop to have a picnic and take in the beautiful scenery. Make sure you take people you like, because if not you’re in for a LONG ride. Allow about 2 hours for picture taking and scenic viewing.
