Super Quick Oreo Halloween Treats

I have a super quick and easy Halloween treat for you today.  It’s so easy that your little one can help you make it, and if you flub up no one is going to know the difference. So quick, that if it’s midnight and you forgot to make something for your kids Halloween party tomorrow, this would be your saving grace. PROMISE!

It’s not midnight, but my son’s Halloween event for school is tomorrow.  With me being sick, I procrastinated.  I am on the other hand a super type A person, and I needed something cute, creative, and yummy.  Something that would wow everyone.  Yes, my friends, I am…THAT mom.

I had seen variations of these treats online for some time now, and they seemed easy enough for me to accomplish, so I dove in head first, no recipe.  That’s right friends, NO RECIPE.

Today I have for you two yummy Halloween treats made with oreos and candy melts.  I made a Monster Oreo Pop and a Mummy Oreo.  They look super complicated but trust me they are not.  I fell in love with how cute the mummy’s were.  And to be completely honest they were supposed to be on sticks as well, but I got lazy.  I loved the idea of monster pops and we used typical Halloween colors.  The purple monsters remind me of the purple people eater. • 1 ziploc bag

  • Spoon
  • Lollipop or popsicle sticks
  • Candy melts
    • colored or white

  6. Put it in the microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval.

  9. While mixing your candy melts will start to seize up and not be creamy anymore.  To fix this you are going to add in some crisco or vegetable oil.  Add in 1-TSP at a time until you get a creamy consistency once again.
  10. Take your Lollipop sticks, one at a time, dip into candy melt, then press into cream side of your cookie.Super Quick Halloween Treats -- Monster Oreo Pops -- Inspirealoha.net
  11. Take your spoon and add a tiny dollop on top of the stick, spreading evenly.
  12. Take the other side of the cookie and sandwich together.
  13. Lay them back on your parchment paper and let sit until it hardens OR, stick entire tray into freeze for about 10-15 minutes.Super Quick Halloween Treats -- Monster Oreo Pops -- Inspirealoha.net
  14. Once the lollipops are hardened, dip your lollipop into your candy melts.
  15. Take your spoon and cover the entire cookie with candy melts, scrape off any excess that you feel is not needed.  It is okay if your cookie does not look smooth, it just adds to the monster effect.
  16. Lay each lollipop onto parchment paper.  Don’t worry, it will not stick to the parchment paper.Monster Oreo Pops -- Super Quick Halloween Treats -- inspirealoha.net
  17. Take your candy eyes and place any number of eyes on each lollipop while still soft.
  18. Once you have covered all your lollipops, leave them out to set.  If it’s humid like it is where I live, stick them in the freezer or ice box for about 45 minutes or until candy has hardened.Monster Oreo Pops -- Super Quick Halloween Treats -- inspirealoha.net

  13. When you are finished, wait until candy sets, or if it’s humid like where I live, stick the entire pan into the freezer or refrigerator for 30-45 minutes, or until hardened.

That’s it! Super simple, quick, and easy. For added fun, you could use those new flavored Oreo’s or the traditional orange and black Halloween themed ones.  I would think these would also be super adorable if you used the mini Oreo’s. If I ever try them, I will repost!
