My fashion posts are going to be quick and simple, just how I like it. That seems to be the running theme through my blog. quick and simple recipes, quick and simple fashion, quick and simple makeup. I don’t like to spend a ton of time doing things, because, like I’ve mentioned in a few other posts, my son has the attention span of a fly.  So I try to squeeze in everything in the two hours while he is sleeping.

Here it goes!

I love fashion. I love to dress up, I love to keep up with the latests trends. The problem? Hawaii is VERY behind in the fashion game.  Trends tend to take a year before they enter the Hawaii market.  Don’t ask me why, I don’t know, but it’s very frustrating. Also, I find that people like to stare. I don’t know if they are staring because I look AMAZING or because they are wondering what the heck I’m wearing or why I’m so ‘Dressed up’.  Dressing up usually consists of Aloha Shirt with dress pants or Maxi Dresses. For women that is changing, everything besides T-shirt and slippers is considered dressing up. So here I am dressed up for Rehearsals for the Miss East Oahu/Miss Kahala Pageant.  In my free time, I volunteer with the Miss East Oahu and Miss Kahala Organization, which is a preliminary pageant to the Miss Hawaii Pageant, the state pageant for the Miss America Organization.  I used to compete, and I am a former Miss Kahala so I try to do anything I can to help these wonderful girls.

I love high waisted anything. These high waist, wide leg pants are a cream white color and goes with just about anything. It’s great for me because it makes me look miles taller than I actually am.  #shortpeopleproblems am I right? Btw I know my pants aren’t hemmed and it was a pain in the butt to walk around in them. I was just so excited to wear them! The pants are made by Lauren Conrad in her Runway Collection for Kohls. It comes in two colors, Ice Berg Green and Gardenia. On the website they look like a crisp white, but in person they are more of an off white, cream color. Regularly Priced I think they are $68.00. The clutch is made by a local company here in Hawaii. She has BEAUTIFUL pieces and each one is unique. She makes various, clutches, purses, and bags inspired by Hawaii and made in Hawaii. My favorite bags of hers are made of vintage kimonos! Please check out Kahulale’a HERE.
