Aloha is a Hawaiian word. For most it means a simple Hello or goodbye, for others, like myself, it holds a much deeper meaning. Translated loosely it means The Breath of Life. Inspire Aloha is a movement to breathe new life into the world around us.
Aloha can also be broken down into an acronym.
A – Akahai or Kindness
L – Lokahi or Unity
O – Olo’olu or Agreeability
H – Ha’aha’a or Humility
A – Ahonui or patience
These are values that were instilled in me, by my grandparents, from the time I was born. My grandparents taught me long ago, not with their words, but by their actions that service to your community and fellow man creates a harmonious state of being.
This is what Inspire Aloha is, Inspiring you to kokua, help, your community. A movement striving to make a difference in the lives of all people. It is a movement to instill positive Hawaiian values in ourselves and our children. A movement that, hopefully, will change the way most of us see the world around us. I want everyone to live a life of love and happiness and to understand that we all may feel like the world is caving in, but when we step back, and step out of our own shoes, when we live a life of aloha, we inspire aloha in others. It’s an aloha state of mind.
